I watched the fansub of this earlier and I could just tell something was missing.  Not only was it clear that the nudity was cut but it appeared that crucial pieces of story were gone, as well.  I have read that the Italian version clocks in at 87 minutes as opposed to the 80 minute Spanish print I saw.

Honestly, it was far from being the most exciting giallo I've ever seen but I imagine those cuts could have made a huge difference.  Does anyone know if there is an uncut copy floating around?  I would really like to see it.    :-*

Hello, the uncut italian version runs 85 minutes
The spanish one cut out all the nudity because of the franco's censorship,i don't remember other cuts, because sadly this movie is really quite boring, you know putting 3-4 murders in only the final 15 minutes...
It is a pity because there is a great cast,a terrific score, but this movie it is really not great, even in the uncut version the sex scenes are not soo hot (only some breasts ,some lesbian, some psycho ripp-off scene of the paint with the hole to spy on another room and not a lot of more)

MelissaMerli:
Thanks for the reply.  I thought that the nudity being censored may have something to do with that.  Like you said, it was a pretty wasted opportunity.

ecc:
Bill Knight (formerly of Midnight Video) found the cropped English version with nudity intact under its export title NIGHT OF THE SCORPION being offered at YouTube through the Crackle service: Night Of The Scorpion (The video's owner prevents external embedding)

Unfortunately, Crackle has presented it as something called an rstp stream that cannot be downloaded using the usual streaming downloaders and it cannot be embedded.  Apparently, more tech savvy users can hunt down the stream URL with programs like WireShark but that's way beyond my capabilities.

It isn't a very good giallo, but Piero Piccioni's "It Means Love" is one of his most beautiful themes (and there's plenty of competition).
