Is it my Alzheimer's? I thought we already had a thread on this, but if there actually is one, I sure can't find it. Anyway, can't be bad to bring some more attention to this strange but interesting documentary concept.

DURCH DIE NACHT MIT... is an award-winning TV series on German/French language channel arte that is based on a simple but engrossing idea: Two notable artists, usually actors, filmmakers, writers or musicians, spend an evening together, while cameras document the proceedings. Sometimes the celebrities are of the same profession, sometimes they might know each other's work beforehand, but often their encounters sort of resemble blind dates. Through the course of the evening the hosts have dinner together, they visit all kinds of places and most of all: they talk about everything under the sun. The results range from superficial chatter to almost philosophical insights into the inner workings of the participants. And there are quite a few funny moments to be had here, too.

All in all nearly 100 episodes have been shot so far (for a full list look here). Thankfully, there are a few episodes available on youtube that might also be interesting to some of us lockandloaders. I picked a few that were shot in English language for your viewing pleasure. Several others are currently only available on YT as short excerpts, in case you care to explore more of them.

The most recent episode: James Gunn and Michael Rooker. It's one of the weaker entries in the series but since I dig Rooker as an actor quite a bit I can look past the self promotion. Did they sniff a canister of laughing gas before shooting began?
