Miris (Rettore) is a funny, overweight girl living in a little Italian town and working for a radio station. PASSION (Simona, Patrick Longchamps 1975)
While watching a bullfight, Simona (Laura Antonelli) relives a traumatic experience she had when she was younger. Simona and her lover Georges (Maurizio Degli Esposti) had a free and joyful sexual relationship, and used to meet on the beach. One day they spot a girl spying on them; she is the young Marquise Marcelle de Paille (Margot Saint’Ange), who lives almost buried alive in her father’s house. Since the premature death of Marcelle’s mother, her father has developed an ambiguous and obsessive attachment to his daughter and will do everything to keep Marcelle near him. Simona and Georges decide to free Marcelle from her captivity with tragic consequences. REVENGE OF THE CRUSADER (Genoveffa di Brabante, José Luis Monter 1964)
Seriously wounded in a skirmish with a group of bandits, Count Sigfrido of Treviri (Alberto Lupo) is taken to the nearby castle of the Duke of Brabant, where he is tended by Duke’s daughter Genoveffa (María José Alfonso). The two gradually fall in love and marry shortly after. Once back in Treviri, Sigfrido leaves for the Crusades and asks to his counsellor Golo (Stephen Forsyth) to look after his wife while he’s away. Attracted to Genoveffa, Golo tries to force his attentions on the Countess who rebuffs him. Golo then has her imprisoned and accused of adultery, until she is condemned to death. Definitely have my $ for the Argento films. It'll be nice to have the US releases for Door and a better print of Four Flies.

They look like they'll be a fine replacement for NoShame. Here's hoping.

My copy of Door into Darkness shipped. As long as it has English subs, great.

I'd rather have a great print with English subs over extras. Sure, extras can influence a double or (triple) dip, but if it comes down to having either, I'd go for the former.

I think I read in an old AV Maniacs forum thread that BU's extras (interviews) were quite expensive to produce. I can't begin to imagine how much NoShame's extras were. Considering economics now along with the statistics some titles don't break even, I understand the lack of extras for MYA's titles.

I would just love another BU style company in the US that offers a great selection of Eurocult with nice prints and English Subs. The rest is icing on the cake.

For "small" movies like the ones distributed by MYA, the production costs of extras are higher than the film distribution rights. Most companies think twice before loosing their money on extras

When Countess Erzsebet Bathory (Lucia Bosé) is accidentally splattered with some blood drops of one of her nubile maidservants, the Countess finds out that the blood can preserve her skin young and beautiful. Rome, 310 A.D. The Roman Empire is beginning to collapse, and Proconsul Tullius Valerius (Albert Farley) fears that provincial governor Gaius (John Barracuda) has been secretly working with those Germanic barbarians seeking to end Roman rule. Valerius then orders to former gladiator Marcus (Brad Harris) to go undercover and investigate this situation. In Gaius’ territory also lives Lycia (Maria Pia Conte), the beloved of Marcus. Gaius soon learns of Marcus’ plans, and has him captured and unfairly accused of murder. Led to believe that Marcus is guilty, Lycia turns against him, and Gaius condemns the gladiator to be pulled apart by teams of horses. Thanks for the info on this title Magnus, I'd looked around for info on this but couldn't find anything. Great news, Edwige films from the late 60's are few and far between. It's a MUST BUY for me.

Cool news about the release of RETURN OF THE GLADIATOR - otherwise better known as THREE GIANTS OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE. This one was released by German company Marketing Film some years ago but in German language only. It's a very enjoyable little film made after the peplum craze was over and it has a great cast. Some battle scenes are stolen from older peplums in order to save cash but I thought that just added to the fun. Very happy to see this one being rescued from obscurity!

Hurrah for more Peplums and Erotic comedies on DVD! I hope these sell well as they are sorely lacking.

Perhaps some Spaghetti Westerns will also be forthcoming, lots of those absent on DVD.
