MYA Communications (USA)
« on: 14 Aug 2008 - 14:56 »

A new (?) company from the US, due to start releasing later this year. Anyone know anything about them?

Luciano Martino's The Virgo, The Taurus And The Capricorn

Joe D'Amato's Provocation

Nunzio Malasomma's The Blind Woman Of Sorrento

Never heard of them but any company that puts out some English friendly Fenech gets a thumbs up from me ::)

Looks promising. Let's hope they become the new US NoShame.

Exactly. They're big shoes to fill but someone needs to take over where NoShame left off.

It looks more and more as if Mya is an offspring of NoShame..

they have announced the release of Dario Argento's DOOR INTO DARKNESS on January 27 2009.

Other upcoming films January 27:

The Maniacs (Lucio Fulci, 1964)

Bread Love and Dreams (Luigi Comencini, 1953)

The Inveterate Bachelor (Giorgio Bianchi, 1958)

I wonder why they're only releasing the final POLIZIOTTA entry in the series?
Will still get all of these new releases though, as I'm eager for some new English friendly Italian films.

I'm pretty sure only two of the three films have English tracks - is it parts 1 & 3? Can't remember off the top of my head.

Just had PROVOCATION & THE VIRGO, THE TAURUS & THE CAPRICORN ship today from Deep Discount.  Got both for Approximately $20 US, including shipping, with the 25% off sale which continues through the 23rd of this month.  There's no tax unless you live in Illinois, where DD's warehouse is located.

Stateside members should consider using the link (is it still up, Jonny?) at the LL&L home page and the DDAF code.

Checking the IMDB entry for CICCIABOMBA (for what that's worth), I'd say you're right about that one.  I just wish Mya was including subs and still featuring extras like NoShame used to.  That said the licensing and production of those earlier NoShames would have cost a bomb, so maybe this is what we need to tolerate if Mya are to keep going with regular releases.  What's CICCIABOMBA like anyway?
