Blu preferable but if not then DVD is good.

DVD. Though I would seriously consider purchasing a Blueray-player if this would be on Blueray only.

Out of curiosity, how much does the production cost differ from a DVD and a Blueray today? Thinking mostly of the actual cost of pressing etc.

Not too bothered about which format but I'll definitely support it if it is released.


If there are enough special features to warrant a Blu Ray disc then I'd be up for that, otherwise DVD will do.


Perhaps you could make the first run a numbered limited edition (or with limited packaging) and depending on whether they sell through, then do a second un-numbered re-press?

Given the nature of how some of the interviews were shot I'd have thought DVD would be the better option, right?

My advice, if you're going for one format only, would be DVD as it would obviously reach a bigger market.

All I have is dvd right now, so that is what I’ll vote for, but if it only comes out on blu-ray, I’ll go out and spend the money on a blu-ray player.

I'd second that suggestion, some sort of limited edition, then an unlimited one.Either format is fine by me.Good luck with it  ::)

This is a definitive buy for me, so it really does not matter if it is a dvd or blu-ray disc.

I wonder for a documentary like that, if a BD is really needed, cause the movie fragments are not HD anyway.

So a DVD would be fine.

Agreed - DVD. Many of the clips were from VHS so no point in HD.

And DVD is much easier and far cheaper to author and replicate.
