Excellent stuff and brilliantly edited considering how old it is.
Right on, mate! But I think that´s what actually explains the quality editing, Paul!
Had it been made today, chances are it would probably look more like a MTV video or something...that´s one of the many reasons that make these 70s films distinctive imo. Not to mention the brilliant cinematography, unlike some of the Hollywood crap being made today, which makes the films looks as if they´ve been filmed inside a refrigerator! :-*

A side note: 35mm and 16mm copies of the film under it ITALIAN CONNECTION title exist in the UCLA Film and TV archive.  The notes say that it is hardmatted at 1.66:1.  The DVD transfers are 1.85:1 and I don't think they look overmatted (even the US version would have been projected at 1.85:1).

I'd love for the score to this to be released.

Did the little digital 'niggles' bother you?

No, hardly ruined the film did they, by the time they flashed up they were gone again. Much better to watch it in HD with them little tiny blemishes than in SD without them.

Does the Scotch bloke who likes to play with trains watch crime films? If so it would probably ruin the whole film for him.

I watched the English dub of this the other night and it's way out of sync for most of the film. Disappointing.

Looked alright to me. Remember with these Italian films even though you can see Henry Silva etc clearly speaking English the sound was added after and very rarely matches up properly.

Nah, it was way out though. The Italian Raro DVD wasn't like that. Tried the blu ray on 2 players too.

We watched it in Italian with subtitles, I'll give it another spin in English and see what I think - I'm really sensitive to sound being out of sync so if there's a problem I'll spot it straight away.

I don't recall the English track being out of synch. Will give it a spin to check.

Just watched the raro dvd of this last night and truly enjoyed it! I love Mario Adorf and how he acts, the experessions he can make with his face and I completely fell in love with the soundtrack.
